BARKA by Girovago
The Trail & District Arts Council presents BARKA by Girovago, on Tuesday, February 25 at 7:30 pm, as part of the Performing Arts Trail series in The Bailey Theatre. A daring mix of circus, live music and dance, this is a show full of delirious energy and a richness of sound, visual and sensory experiences.
The show features 11 artists from Montreal in a celebration of life, where original music by Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra fuses Afro-Colombian percussion with Balkan melodies, dance and circus, including Cyr wheel, contortions, balance, juggling and uni-cycle.
Using the boat as a metaphor for humanity, the show explores how we must work together, no matter our differences, to reach our dreams, in a festive chaos that calls for hope.
