Mxiɬp Xewílh (Cedar Trail) Grand Opening Event
Welcome to Mxiɬp Xewílh (Cedar Trail) Grand Opening Ride!
Join us for an exciting adventure from Strawberry Pass to BlackJack Ski Club. This event is a celebration of nature, community, and the joy of riding. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or a beginner, this trail offers breathtaking views and a chance to connect with the beauty of the land.
Envisioned more than 15 years ago by community members, the Mxiɬp Xewílh (Cedar Trail) has been a three year construction project for the Kootenay Columbia Trails Society(KCTS), a 17km relatively wide and smooth beginner mountain bike trail connecting between Strawberry Pass(start of the Seven Summits trail) and Blackjack Ski Club, via the newly widened and surfaced Aquaduct and Adventure Trails.

Shuttles to Strawberry Pass Trailhead
Kootenay Mountain Biking will provide shuttles for a limited number of people to the trailhead. Please register in advance and meet at BlackJack for pickup. For those driving themselves to Strawberry Pass, a vehicle retrieval shuttle will run at 3pm and return to Blackjack parking for the BBQ.

Trail Side Trivia
Download the Trail Side Trivia game before you go, complete along the way and submit at the BBQ for fame and prizes.

Group Ride
Enjoy the beauty and flow of the trail with friends and family. Organizers will do a sweep of the trail, so please make it past the Biathlon parking area by 2:00pm at the latest.
12:00 PM – 2:30 PM
Chocolate Fondue and Water Station – Biathlon Parking Area

Celebration BBQ and Cake
Following the ride, continue the celebrations with complimentary BBQ and beverages at the Blackjack Ski Club base area. Enter your trivia results for awesome door prizes and enjoy a slice of cake!
